2nd EULAR Online Course for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in collaboration with the Lupus Academy is open for registrations

After the successful recent completition of the 1st edition, the 2nd EULAR Online Course for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in collaboration with the Lupus Academy will start on 14 October 2020 under the coordination of Prof. Ricard Cervera and its faculty includes some of the most prestigious experts on this disease, including Profs. Murray Urowitz, Thomas Dörner, David Isenberg, Bevra Hahn, Zahir Amoura,Andrea Doria, Bernardo Pons-Estel, Ian Bruce, Munther Khamashta, Ronald van Vollenhoven, Marta Mosca and Sandra Navarra.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex multi-organ autoimmune disease, which until recently has not seen the necessary paradigm shifts in treatment options to facilitate optimal care. Recent updates to management guidelines, greater understanding of best clinical practices (including steroid sparing and optimal use of hydroxychloroquine) and the advent of new treatment options, offer renewed hope for better patient outcomes in SLE.

Improving understanding of best practice in SLE is therefore of paramount importance in supporting the development of multidisciplinary knowledge among physicians worldwide. Junior and senior rheumatologists alike would benefit from new and renewed education focused on the management of SLE in the 21st century.

Young physicians, in particular, are interested in working with online education to improve their skills in diagnosing and managing SLE. EULAR does not currently offer a comprehensive eLearning resource that covers the core education needed to improve the management of SLE and the Lupus Academy has agreed to support the development of this education by providing all the content for the course materials.

The Lupus Academy is a long-term initiative committed to improving patient outcomes in SLE and allied diseases. By providing a highly interactive educational forum, the Lupus Academy is dedicated to sharing best clinical practice through the dissemination and discussion of cutting edge scientific and clinical research. The  9th Annual Meeting will take place virtual on 11-13 September 2020 and this year registration is free - and still open for late applications!!
